Groups affiliated to the White Power scene

In November 2008, a new party was founded on the White Power scene; Folkfronten (the Peoples Front). One year later it changed its name to Svenskarnas parti (SvP, The Swedes´ Party). The organisation Svenska Motståndsrörelsen (SMR, the Swedish Resistance Movement) and the right-wing extremist website Info14 are two other key players on this scene. The scene also consists of a number of local groups as well as unorganised supporters and propaganda consumers.

Organisations

Organisations are characterised by centralised leadership, rules for membership, membership fees and other rules of conduct that members have to abide by.

Svenskarnas parti (SvP)

In November 2008 Folkfronten changed its name to Svenskarnas parti. One year earlier Folkfronten hade been launched as a new party on the White Power scene as Nationalsocialistisk Front (NSF, National Socialist Front) closed its books after 14 years. So far, this seems to be a name change only — the original ambitions of the NSF to abolish democracy by parliamentary methods and govern the country based on nationalist values still remain.

Svenska Motståndsrörelsen (SMR)

Svenska Motståndsrörelsen, which was founded in 1997, aims to establish a totalitarian regime through revolution. The organisation is hierarchical, with a military approach, and members have occassionally been subjected to disciplinary actions when they have committed crimes or conducted themselves in a manner that does not conform to the ideology of SMR.

Networks

Networks differ from organisations by not having a centralised leadership, even though they too have rules and membership fees may occur. They consist of more or less independent groups that are coordinated rather than directed by a central body. Networks have become more frequent occurence of the White Power scene, but are traditionally associated with the autonomous scene.

Info 14 and Fria nationalister

Info 14 is a nationalist website dating back to the late 1990s that is run by a small, Stockholm-based group. Info 14 is not an organisation, but a website aiming to inspire White Power supporters to local action. By reporting on actions across the country, it is hoped that supporters will find inspiration for further activity. The name alludes to the 14 words written by the US white supremacist David Lane: “We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children".

Info 14 is independent of organisations. They cooperate with all actors on the White Power scene and started the White Power network Fria nationalister (Free Nationalists) in 2005. Info 14 also arranges large annually recurring cross-organisational events such as the Salem March in December and the Peoples March in Stockholm on 6 June, Sweden´s National Day. Other activities include concerts, for instance, organised by Solidaritetskommittén (The Solidarity Committee) for the benefit of White Power supporters in prison.
